As part of its ethos to enhance management capability in the country and abroad, AIMA has always been at the forefront in providing platforms for knowledge transfer, learning and debate. The Centre for Advanced Training in Earth System Sciences and Climate (CATESSC) announces admission to the second batch of scientist trainees. Meritorious candidates with M.Sc / B.Tech / M.Tech / MS degree with outstanding academic background throughout and with a high rank in the CSIRNET or IIT-GATE examination will be recruited, provided induction training extending to 18 months and on successful completion will be placed in the constituent institutes of the Earth System Sciences Organization (ESSO) of the Ministry of Earth Sciences as Scientists. The recruitees are encouraged to pursue Ph.D after placement. The program is carried out at IITM and a new campus with self contained facilities for training and research is being developed in Pune. 

 

Qualification :  The candidate should possess first class M.Sc / M.Tech / MS degree or equivalent in Physics, Applied Physics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, Chemistry, Ocean Sciences, Geophysics, Geology or any other area of Earth Sciences or any related disciplines with Physics and Mathematics at the graduate level.   1. Uttarakhand TET (UTET) Qualification Teachers of Classes I-V (Paper I):
    Candidates should have passed in Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45 percent marks. Those appearing in final 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education / 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) / 2 – year Diploma in Education in Special Education are also eligible. OR Candidates with BA / B.Sc. with at least 50 percent marks and B.Ed qualification can also apply.
  2. Uttarakhand TET (UTET) Qualification Teachers of Classes VI-VIII (Paper II) : Applicants having B.A. / B.Sc and those appearing in final 2 year D.Ed. / B.A. /B.Sc. with at least 45 percent marks and passed / appearing in B.Ed / Senior Secondary with at least 50 percent marks and passed or appearing in final 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) / 4-year BA/ B.Sc.Ed. or B.A. (Ed.)/B.Sc. (Ed.) / B.Ed. (Special Education) with 50 percent in BA or B.Sc are eligible for UTET.

 

UTET 2013 Exam pattern and Scheme:

UTET consists of two objective type question papers. Each paper will consist of 150 MCQs and each question carries 1 marks totaling for 150 marks. Following are the details of question papers:

  1. Paper I: To become teachers for classes I-V in Uttarakhand primary school.
  2. Paper II: To become teachers for classes between VI and VIII in Uttarakhand upper primary school.
  3. Paper I and II: For those candidates who interested in teaching from Class I to VIII. They can appear for both the papers and have to get qualifying marks to be considered for all the classes.

Friday , 24   August , 2012 Indian Railways is launching the Mumbai elevated rail corridor project

 

Indian Railways is planning to launch a new air-conditioned suburban train service in Mumbai. The project will involve cost of around INR 200 bn. The technical feasibility study for this Mumbai elevated rail corridor project has already been conducted and concessionaire shall be finalized by March 15, 2013.

The new 63.27 km elevated rail corridor links Oval Maidan,South Mumbai, and Virar in the northern most railway station of Mumbai Suburban Railway. This corridor will have two-track corridor along the existing Churchgate-Virar section, which is operated by the Western Railway (WR) Zone of Indian Railways. Out of the 62.27 km corridor, 42.72 km route will be on elevated track, 8.04 km will be underground and the remaining 12.52 at ground level. It will have with 26 stations, designed for trains running at speed of 100 kmph. This service is expected to boost capacity on the over-exhausted western suburban railway service.

Friday , 24   August , 2012 Indian Govt Standards to enhance fuel efficiency by 20 Percent

 

Government of India will soon implement new regulations making it mandatory for car makers to enhance per kilometer mileage by ~20% in the coming eight years.  Cars need to be rated depending on their fuel efficiency from next year. Five star labeling will be acquired by the most fuel efficient car in a particular weight category, while the lowest will have one star rating. Cars which do not fall between one to five ratings need to be phased out. Car makers failing to adhere to the new fuel economy rules will be penalized depending on the variation from the standard.

Government aims to raise the average fuel mileage to18.1 kms/litre by 2015 and 20.79 kms/litre by 2020 from the current 16.6 kms/litre. The implementation of this regulation can lead to 8-10% rise in car prices, extra cost incurred by the car purchasers could be recovered in three years and saving three metric tonnes of fuel by 2015. However, this can also result in decline in car sales.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality / Citizenship: A candidate must be either

i) a Citizen of India or; 
ii) a subject of Nepal or; 
iii) subject of Bhutan or; 
iv) a  Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently  settling in India or; 
v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East  African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly  Tanganyika  and  Zanzibar), Zambia,  Malawi,  Zaire,  Ethiopia  and  Vietnam  with  the intention of permanently settling in India. 

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. 

A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be  admitted to the Interview conducted by the Bank but on final selection the offer of appointment  may  be  given  only  after  the  Government  of India  has  issued  the  necessary eligibility certificate to him/her.

Minimum Educational QualificationA pass  with 50% or more marks in Higher Secondary examination of 10+2 of the 10+2+3 pattern / Intermediate / Pre University or any equivalent examination  /  Diploma in Banking recognized by Central / State Government or UT Administration.

Candidates possessing minimum scores in the Common Written Examination (CWE) conducted by IBPS in 2011 in individual tests as stipulated above as well as in Total Weighted Standard Score (TWSS) should only apply.

Note: All Educational Qualifications Shall be from those Boards/Universities/Institutes which are recognized by Govt./UGC as applicable.

Candidates should have obtained not less than the minimum IBPS score cut off for the category to which he/she belongs in the Common Written Examination conducted for Clerical cadre in 2011.

Candidates should be able to produce the Score card in support of the scores mentioned in the online application form, if called for further selection processes such as Interview.

In respect of IBPS examination for which the candidate holds the score card, he/she should have appeared from the centre in the State/UT for which vacancies he/she now wishes to apply.

Candidates should be able to read, write and speak English.

Candidates should possess proficiency in the official language of  the State/ UT (ability to read, write and speak local / State language) in which they have appeared for the Common Written  Examination and for which State/UT vacancies they now apply.

Selection ProcedureDepending on the number of vacancies, only those candidates who are qualified in the Common Written Examination for recruitment of Clerical personnel conducted by IBPS  in 2011 and possess a valid score card issued by IBPS and depending upon ranking in the order of merit based on the Total Weighted Standard Score shall be called for a personal interview in the ratio of 1 : 5 for General category and 1:7 for Reserved category.  

The Bank reserves the right to vary the above ratio in any manner as it deems fit.

Selection for the post of Clerk will be based on the Total Weighted Standard Score in the Common Written Examination conducted by IBPS in 2011 and the marks scored in the Interview.

Call Letters For Interview: Call letters for the purpose of interview will be sent to the shortlisted/ eligible candidates through email to the email address given by them in the application form while registering for  the Common Written Examination for recruitment of Clerical personnel 2011-12. 

A list of all such candidates called for interview along with details such as date, time and venue of the interview will also be hosted on the bank’s website www.indianbank.in.

Essential  Qualification:

Dependent of Non-Resident Indian, it would not be enough that a candidate produces willingness of the sponsor to pay his/her fees for the course in question

It would be necessary for the candidate to show in what manner he/she of she claims to be a dependent of the NRI

A candidate would have to produce before the authority materials suggesting that in the past also for his/her education and other related requirements, he/she was dependent on such sponsor and that the parents do not have economic means to provide for necessary fees and other expenditure for the course in question
